FRANCES TROUSDALE
Policy Associate
Frances Trousdale is a recent graduate from Georgetown University pursuing a policy-based approach to criminal legal reform. Working to transform the landscape of American incarceration, she has engaged in the fight for justice through education, policy, and advocacy.
While in Washington DC, Frances worked to expand prison education opportunities by facilitating the Georgetown Prison Scholars Program, teaching literature courses in local jails, and leading prison voting initiatives. Joining the #CLOSErikers campaign, she pushed for reform in New York City jails and expedited broad-scale releases for individuals particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Frances expanded this work to the realm of wrongful convictions, working to exonerate individuals by producing short-form documentaries, launching social media campaigns, and taking legal action.
Approaching this work from numerous vantage points, Frances firmly believes that any approach to change must be driven by the voices and visions of directly impacted individuals.
